Peanut flax shake

This shake is a good brain-booster and energizer to keep you going when you're physically and mentally active and need to push yourself to keep being productive. I love it because it's quick, easy and healthy but tastes like a dessert! Recipe taken from "365 Vegan Smoothies" by Kathy Patalsky.




Ingredients:

1 tablespoon salted peanut butter, or a scoop of PB2 (peanut butter powder)
1 1/4 cups vanilla non-dairy milk (almond, soy, coconut, flax or hemp)
1 frozen banana
2 teaspoons maple syrup
1-2 teaspoons flax oil or 1 teaspoon flax meal
2-3 pinches ground cinammon
1/2 cup of ice
optional boost: 1-2 teaspoons raw cacao powder


Directions: Combine everything in a blender and blend until smooth. Top with chocolate chips, fresh banana slices, or peanuts if desired.
