If you've noticed, the grass is always greener on the other side for all of us.
Are we ever truly happy in life with where we are, or are we always trying to get somewhere else? Once we achieve our biggest goals, are we truly satisfied inside and happy or is it not enough? The biggest joy in life for most is not actually getting to the top of the mountain, but the journey getting there.. the climb. Yet we often don't realize this until the climb is over. We get aggravated with the obstacles and frustrations that get in our way and want to hurry up to get where we're going, but forget to stop and smell the flowers because life is short and in reality, the journey is everything. When you get that big job you wanted, finally find your soul mate, buy your first house or car, finally feel like you're doing something that makes a difference, make the changes in your life you've been trying to make for what has felt like an eternity, or anything else you've been working your ass off for.... these goals sometimes feel less enticing and exciting once we finally have them in our grasp.
All of us face challenges, obstacles, and suffer to get where we are going in life and to earn the things we want. Life isn't always fair and we won't always get what we've been fighting for. Since these hurdles are unavoidable (and we ALL deal with them! Everyone things their suffering in life is unique- guess what, it's not!), we must bring meaning and worthiness to those hurdles by deciding WHAT exactly is worth "suffering" for and trying to find some meaning in the emotional and mental torment we put ourselves through while getting there. Once you figure that out, you won't really suffer as much anymore, and you may finally feel like you've figured out what this journey we call life is all about. Every bit of frustration, our anger, our sadness, these negative feelings stem from us for a reason. What's up to you is to figure out if it's worth it.. and if it is, you'll feel SO much better, and that reward you're fighting for will be a lot more satisfying and not taken for granted.
