RAW Sunflower Torte

Before making this I had no idea what the hell a torte was. After looking up images and finding pictures of pretty cake looking things I got a little creative with this recipe to basically make a veggie and seed cake layer cake with veggies. This torte is savory, packed with protein and nutrients and especially full of flavors. Feel free to get creative and add any other raw veggies that you'd like! Best part is it's raw so it's fun and quick to make.  This recipe was modified from "The Ultimate Live-Food Cookbook" by Sergei and Valya Boutenko.


Ingredients:

4 cups of sunflower seeds
1 large white onion
bunch of parsley
2 cloves of garlic
¼ cup lemon juice
¼ cup olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 sliced tomato
1 sliced zucchini 


Directions:

With a food processor, blend together all the ingredients except the tomato and zucchini. Cut the tomato and zucchini into slices. Use ¼ of the seed mash to make a flat "cake" on a plate. Next layer zucchinis on top. Then add another layer of the seed mixture. Add a layer of tomatoes.  Add another layer of seed mix, then zucchinis, then seed mix and a final later of tomatoes. Cut into 4 slices like a cake and serve.
