This info was inspired by a copy & paste & share Facebook post that I found to be so true, I had to re-translate it from my own mind, heart, and experience. I hope you'll take these inspirational words to get you through the day and maybe change your perspective on the life you're living.
As we grow older and wiser we learn a lot of things. I hope if you haven't learned these things already that you won't take them lightly... let them sink into your mind and remind you what truly living is all about.
Whether you wear a $30 gemstone watch you bought at Walmart, a cheapo $10 watch you found in a dumpster (did I ever share my dumpster diving experience.. yes it was fun!), or a $500 watch you wear proudly on your wrist as some kind of sign of worth, or some BS like that.... your watch will always tell the same time. And this time, I may add is something that affects EVERYONE on the planet, regardless of your age, your job, your experiences, how much money you have, etc. Time cannot be bought, it cannot be rewound, and it cannot be stopped... but like an hourglass glued to the table, it slowly runs out for all of us and no one can do anything to get it back.
Whether your purse or wallet is handmade out of duct tape, or some kind of designer statement item that cost well into the hundreds or thousands... the amount of money you carry in it will still be the same. Whether you wear clothes you bought at a thrift store, or a $1000 brand new outfit, the person within those clothes will still be the same.
Whether you drink a $5 bottle of wine from Trader Joe's (yes.. they're an excellent choice for affordable wine shopping) or a bottle that cost you $300 in an attempt to impress... the hangover from the wine will still be the same.
Whether you live in a 10,000 square foot mansion, a one bedroom apartment, or a cardboard box on the street... loneliness will still feel the same.
Whether your car is a $200 Craigslist buy, or a $80k Mercedes.. they will both (hopefully) get you where you need to go.
No matter what you think, material items do not bring true inner happiness. Yes, I admit, they certainly can enhance it, but alone they bring nothing to enrich your mind and fill your heart.
Your family, your friends, your significant others, your pets, your co-workers- anyone you enjoy spending time with, THAT is true happiness. LOVE and CARING about others will bring joy inside of you. Making a difference in the world, and helping others, and connecting with others.. these are the things that fill our hearts. And although all of those material items we care about so much may still exist long after we are all dead, the people and animals you care about will decompose all the same as you (how morbid is that? Sorry.. it's true though..) And regardless of how much money you have, your flesh will rot into the earth all the same as anyone else... and you no longer will be able to enjoy the fancy car and house that's materials will still exist and last years beyond your own body.
Don't teach your kids to be rich. Teach them to be happy, so when they grow up they will know the VALUE of things and not the PRICE.
Eat your food as your medicines, otherwise you'll have to eat medicines as your food.
Your true love will never leave you, even if there are 100 reasons to give up. They will find even just one reason to hold on. If they don't care enough to do that, I promise you, they were not your true love.
There is a difference between a human being and being human. Very few will ever understand that difference.
You're loved when you're born and you'll be loved when you die. In between you'll have to figure shit out and manage.
If you want to walk fast, walk alone. But to walk far, walk together.
Recipe for good health: sunlight/get outdoors + sleep + exercise + healthy diet (the more plants the better) + self-love + confidence + helping others or a cause you're passionate about + friends + laughter + love
