Pink hummingbird smoothie

This smoothie is packed with protein and makes an excellent recovery drink after a workout, or can be a filling meal replacer. Add a little more liquid to thin it out, or use less to thicken it up to enjoy in a bowl with toppings like I did here! It makes a pretty tasty "nice cream" bowl. I topped mine with chocolate chips, goji berries, and hemp seeds and had as a dessert after a workout. Recipe taken from "365 Vegan Smoothies" by Kathy Patalsky.





Ingredients:

1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
1 frozen banana
1/2 cup vanilla non-dairy milk
1/2 cup silken tofu
1/2 cup coconut water
pinch of salt
drizzle of agave syrup, or to taste
optional: ice cubes for more frostiness, and a handful of walnuts for an added protein boost

Directions:

Combine everything in a blender and blend on high until smooth.
