This recipe tastes like a milkshake, but despite it's name has no dairy or sugar in it at all! Just a few wholesome ingredients including Maca, which is a "superfood" that you may have never even heard of. It's a dense nutty powder made from maca root. Maca is known for it's energizing qualities, so it will help you feel more energized, fights fatigue, and will give you extra stamina and endurance. It's excellent for athletes but can be taken even on your average workday where you just need that extra strength to get you through the day. It doesn't have the most pleasant taste by itself, but combined into a smoothie it add's a nutty, earthy flavor.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups non-dairy milk (almond, soy, flax, hemp, coconut)
1 tablespoon peanut butter
1 tablespoon maca powder
1 frozen banana
1 teaspoon vanilla
sweetener (optional)
Directions:
Add everything to a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy this healthy pick me up, and feel free to add protein powder for an extra boost!
