Green Tea Lime Pie Smoothie Bowl

This delicious smoothie base can be topped with all kinds of fruit, nut, seeds, granola or anything for a filling meal. Fresh greens and matcha provide lots of nutrition and an energizing kick, and the smoothie has an overall flavor similar to key lime pie (and is the color green!). Matcha green tea is a natural source of caffeine with lots of antioxidants. Enjoy this tasty, energizing and wholesome treat!





Ingredients:

1/2 cup coconut water
1 cup packed fresh baby spinach
1 large frozen banana
1/4 cup packed avocado
2 teaspoons lime zest
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon lime juice
2-3 ice cubes
2 teaspoons pure maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon matcha green tea powder

Topping ideas:

yogurt
dried berries
granola
coconut flakes
fresh sliced mango, pineapple and/or banana
hemp hearts
chia seeds
cinnamon


Directions:

In a high speed blender, combine all smoothie ingredients until smooth. Pour into a bowl and add toppings of your choice. Enjoy!

Make it kid friendly by not adding matcha and using less lime juice.
