Welcome home Manny!

I would like to formally introduce the newest member of the Epstein household! This is Manny, named after the well known manatee, or sea cow (he has the markings of a cow!) and the personality of a very gently giant, just like a manatee, which is a popular animal in Florida. We found this guy at the Alachua county animal shelter yesterday and just fell in love.

We dearly miss our Alvin but know that since he has moved on to a more comfortable world, he would only want the open space in our home to go to another four legged that needs to be loved, and who will get the privilege of living a life as amazing as Alvin had with us. Wish us luck with our new baby.. Who has a lot of weight to put on to his poor skinny frame, and a lot of love to fill in his huge heart.  It's nice to finally have a dog that is excited and eager to make friends with other dogs! Manny is obsessed with Weiner, he loves her very much and loves making new friends. He's housebroken and already getting used to his crate. He needs some training but is a very fast and eager learner. We already bought him training classes and are beginning to work with him. We are excited to get to know more and more about him and keep falling more and more in love with him each day. He's such a cuddle bug :). He's strong and fierce but beautiful and very gentle too. This was him on our way home from the shelter.

He has a raspy and quiet bark, possibly due to someone debarking him in the past. He was supposedly found as a stray by someone and dumped at the shelter shortly after. He's about a year and a half so we're giving him the birthday of August 1. I know Alvin is happier wherever he is, and we still think of him every day, reminiscing on the good and bad times with him. 

He will always fill a piece of my heart, but also opens a portion that can now give love to another dog and need, and that dog is Manny. We love him!!! :) Please please please adopt!! So many dogs are euthanized every day because shelters run out of room so please go look at your local rescues and shelters before ever buying a dog.
