How to make your own natural bronzer

As warmer months approach us, it's normal for the ladies to be longing for a healthy looking summer glow. Fortunately, there are ways to get it besides baking out in the sun which can put you at a higher risk for skin cancer, not to mention all the burning most people have to go through before getting a desired tan. I've always loved indulging in a natural looking bronzer, which is a safer alternative than soaking the sun's rays, but when you check the ingredients of most make-up and realize that most of the ingredients are impossible to even pronounce, let alone identify- I usually pass on wanting that stuff soaking into my pores and floating down my bloodstream. Even better (and cheaper) is making your own homemade natural bronzer that has only ingredients in it that you WOULD willing put into your body. Try this out!

Materials:

Jar (if you desire a loose powdery bronzer) or empty compact (if you desire a hard "solid" palette bronzer)

small bowl, and spoon to mix

1 tablespoon of powdered cinnamon

1 teaspoon of cocoa power

1 teaspoon of powdered nutmeg

2 teaspoons of arrowroot powder or cornstarch

15 drops of lavender or rosemary essential oil (optional- use only if using compact, and if you want it to be a hard solid palette instead of a loose powder)

Instructions:

Combine all powders in a small bowl and mix well until well combined and clumps are removed.

Adjust amounts to get your desired color:
Cinnamon provides more glow,
Cocoa gives more depth and darkness,
Nutmeg gives a sun-kissed brown
Arrowroot or cornstarch will spread everything out and lighten the color

Add oil to hold it all together if using compact.

If using oil, press well mixed powder into compact. If keeping as a loose powder, funnel or scoop into a small jar. Apply by using a large powder brush or blush brush and apply evenly on skin. Not resistance to water, sweat, or glasses marks and does not contain SPF.
