Since I've been steering out of my comfort zone of acrylic painting and getting a little more into pen and ink drawings, I've been making more sharpie mugs as gifts and for ourselves. They're fast, fun, and totally useful.
The key to making a successful sharpie mug (successful as in the sharpie won't rub off after a few washes) you have to use an oil based ceramic sharpie marker that will remain permanent after endless washes. For a territorial on how to make a DIY sharpie dish, check out my Valentine's gift idea (but use the same method on a mug or any dish of your choice).
If you like my designs, my sharpie mugs are for sale for $15 each with a custom design of your choice on the mug. Since pet portraits are my thing, I mostly do animal designs and custom art of YOUR pet. Email me at sammwehman@gmail.com to inquire :)
Here's a few mugs I've whipped up and had success with so far.
